Paper 2 is a Historical Source Investigation. You will be provided with background information and sources on an area of British medicine from 1200–1945. You will be told the topic in advance. You will have one and a half hours to answer six questions. You need to use your knowledge and understanding of the period to interpret and evaluate the sources and reach conclusions. It is a skills paper – not an exam testing your knowledge. Therefore you need to ensure you’ve practiced all the different types of questions to ensure success. Generally try to include: Examiners always complain about the first sentence. Make sure you answer the question in that first sentence so they know what you’re going to argue. You might get asked a source question on a picture. Try to mention each of these things in your answer: You will be asked to: - infer from a source (read between the lines) - consider a source’s reliability (do you trust the source?) - consider how useful a source is (what does/doesn’t it tell you?) - compare sources - explain why a source was published - use a source to prove a point - explain if you are surprised by what a source says based on what you know See how to answer source questions within this Topic helpfulhistory.freeforums.net/thread/34/answer-sourceMiss Webster's site springwoodgcsehistory.blogspot.co.uk/p/general-source-exam-advice.html
